Music
Music always played a very important part in Richard's life. From a very young age on, he loved to play the instruments and entertained his family and friends with it. But mostly he made music just for himself. For Richard it is a great way to deal with emotions and experiences in life. Richard also enjoys listening to music. Over the years he collected more than a thousand CD's of various genres. Richard writes his own songs and enjoys singing from a very young age on. One of his biggest wishes was to make an album someday, but he didn't want to ride off his name or success as an actor. Through his sister Laura, who is into music herself, Richard got in contact with Jon Dunmore and they began working together. Jon helped composing Richard's songs and they started to perform them in clubs with Jon's band. Soon they turned out to be a success at clubs in and around Hollywood. In January 1994 the long held dream of Richard to make his own CD became reality when he and the Dunmore band signed a record deal with Edel Record Company in Germany and released a single CD called 'VOICE WITH NO NAME'. They released the single in Germany first and it was soon followed by an album called 'WAITING FOR THE SKY TO FALL', that was released in spring 1995. Which was spread thoughout Europe. The European public was very enthusiastic about his cd. It turned out to be a success. And today, even after the CD is out of print, many people still want to own it. Some of the songs on the album were used in the 1994 television series 'Marker'. Richard was also responsible for the theme song of Marker, with Mark Spiro. In 2004 Richard directed two Music Videos for Michael Paloma's cd 'Michael Paloma & His New York Blues.' Titled 'Sugar Daddy' & 'Cell Block #9.' He also features in both clips. Richard can be heard on Paloma's CD as well. He lend his voice to the upbeat, Blues song 'Nothing Personal'. Later on that same year he teamed up with music manager Cheryl Bogart and formed the band Wasteland Park in 2004. Since then Richard has been mainly concentrating himself on his music. In January 2009, Richard was one of the cast members of CMT's Gone Country, season 3. In this music reality show Richard had to compete with the other cast members by joining a two week intense challenge. Richard wrote and sang a heart felt song called 'I'm gonna see you again' for his late mother Carolyn. Also visit the official Richard Grieco music site: http://www.myspace.com/richardgriecomusic |
